Calafell, a benchmark in sustainable tourism

Calafell reaffirms its commitment to the environment and responsible tourism with the renewal of the Biosphere 2025 certification, granted by the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), an entity endorsed by UNESCO. This internationally recognized distinction certifies that Calafell remains aligned with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda.

After signing the Responsible Tourism Commitment Charter, the municipality has consolidated a sustainable tourism management model that combines residents’ quality of life with a visitor experience that respects the local environment. Through the collaboration of all municipal departments, businesses and citizens, Calafell moves towards a greener, more inclusive and conscious future.
