Family holidays on the horizon? If you’re looking for a family-friendly destination and you want your holiday with your kids to be a smashing success, you’ve come to the right place: Calafell.

In 2006, Calafell was recognised as a Family-Friendly Destination – now the Family-Friendly Beach Holiday initiative. It was created by the Catalan Tourist Board and is given to destinations that are particularly geared towards family-friendly tourism.

This recognises Calafell as a tourist destination that provides quality resources, equipment and services particularly for families. This means that we have an amazing range of accommodation and dining options tailored to the needs of families as well as a wide variety of leisure and entertainment options.

Children’s club

If you’re 4 to 11 years of age, you can enjoy games, crafts, mini disco, storytelling and lots of other surprises at our Children’s Club.

Entrance is free for all children staying at tourist accommodation establishments (hotels or tourist apartments) that are part of the Family-Friendly Beach Holiday initiative.

Open in July and August.

Safety wristbands

Don’t forget to place a safety wristband on children with their name and a contact phone number to make them easy to identify in case they get lost. You can get this wristband from the Calafell Tourist Office or any accommodation affiliated with the Family-Friendly Beach Holiday initiative.

Calafell’s heritage

Have you ever seen a traditional Iberian house? What about the castle of a feudal lord? Calafell boasts a rich historic heritage. Come to Calafell and visit the home of writer Carlos Barral, the Calafell Fishermen’s Interpretation Centre, the Iberian Citadel or Holy Cross Castle.

Calafell Family Weekend Festival

As a Family-Friendly Beach Holiday Destination, we’re extremely proud to hold this event that focuses on families. They’re undoubtedly the stars of the show for whom we make every effort to prepare a number of activities such as workshops, games, shows, conferences, etc., among many others, year after year.

In Calafell, we want children to have a great time, which is why we offer a diverse range of sports activities, such as Nordic walking excursions, sailing, surfing, catamaran charter, stand up paddle boarding, tennis, padel, golf, mini golf, MBT or hiking trips, among others.
