Halloween and Castanyada are two festivals that, despite having quite different origins, they share the spotlight at the end of October. Castanyada is a Catalan tradition that celebrates the arrival of autumn with roasted chestnuts, sweet potatoes, panellets and family moments, also remembering the deceased with warmth and respect. Halloween, of Anglo-Saxon origin, fills the streets with costumes, pumpkins and scary stories, inviting young and old to have fun in a terrifying atmosphere. Together, these two customs unite tradition and fantasy in dates full of flavor, color and emotion.
